Our Story
Before DuPont. Before polyester. Before PFAS and bisphenols in our most intimate garments, women wore cotton and linen against their skin—breathable, biodegradable, safe. Our founder's grandmother never needed to check a label for endocrine disruptors or research whether her underwear might disrupt her fertility. But by the time the founder began her own non-toxic journey, that safety had been replaced by plastic. She filtered her water, chose organic food, and cleaned up her skincare only to realize the fabric touching her vulva and reproductive tissue 16 hours a day was still synthetic. The founder said: "My grandmother's underwear was pure. Why shouldn't mine be?" Groundwear was founded in 2022 to reclaim that baseline, updated for modern fit, verified by modern science, but built on the same principle: nothing synthetic should touch your body's most intimate layer.
